1.2 as follows:
1.3 Delete everything after the enacting clause and insert:
1.4 "Section 1. MSRS-GENERAL; REFUND ELIGIBILITY IN CERTAIN
1.5 INSTANCES.
1.6 Notwithstanding any provision of Minnesota Statutes,
1.7 section 352.22, subdivision 1, to the contrary, a person who
1.8 previously has been employed as a state employee, who was placed
1.9 on a medical leave of absence before April 1, 2002, and who was
1.10 still on the medical leave on April 1, 2003, is eligible to
1.11 receive a refund under Minnesota Statutes, section 352.22, if
1.12 the person has not again become a state employee covered by the
1.13 system on the refund application date.
1.14 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.
1.15 Section 1 is effective on the day following final
1.16 enactment."
1.17 Delete the title and insert:
1.18 "A bill for an act
1.19 relating to retirement; general employees retirement
1.20 plan of the Minnesota state retirement system;
1.21 authorizing a refund for certain state employees on a
1.22 long-term medical leave of absence."
