1.6 (a) An eligible person described in paragraph (b) is
1.7 entitled to purchase allowable service credit from the public
1.8 employees retirement association general plan for the period or
1.9 periods of temporary employment specified in paragraph (c) by
1.10 making the payment required under Minnesota Statutes, section
1.11 356.55 or 356.551, whichever is applicable.
1.12 (b) An eligible person is a person who:
1.13 (1) was born on November 27, 1954;
1.14 (2) was hired by the city of Minneapolis as a permanent
1.15 intermittent employee in June 1976 and was not covered by the
1.16 public employees retirement association general plan for that
1.17 employment; and
1.18 (3) is currently employed by the city of Minneapolis,
1.19 covered by the public employees retirement association.
1.20 (c) The periods for allowable service credit purchase are
1.21 periods during 1976, 1977, and 1978 during which the eligible
1.22 person was employed by the city of Minneapolis as a permanent
1.23 intermittent employee.
1.24 (d) An eligible person must provide any relevant
2.1 documentation related to eligibility to make this service credit
2.2 purchase required by the executive director of the public
2.3 employees retirement association.
2.4 (e) Allowable service credit for the purchase periods must
2.5 be granted by the public employees retirement association to the
2.6 account of the eligible person upon receipt of the prior service
2.7 credit purchase payment amount. To receive the service credit,
2.8 the service credit purchase must be received by the public
2.9 employees retirement association by October 1, 2003, or prior to
2.10 retirement, whichever is earlier."
