A Guide to Child Support
&
Spousal Maintenance
Cost-of-Living Adjustments
The online version of "A Guide to Child Support
& Spousal Maintenance Cost-of-Living Adjustments," which is published
by the Office on the Economic Status of Women, is currently under revision. We hope to have revisions complete by the end of the summer. This guide should be used only for court orders
that were issued in the state of Minnesota. If your divorce or
child support order is from another state, you cannot use this guide.
Also being revised is our current guidebook. You may download
a free copy of the 2007 version A Guide to Child Support and Spousal
Maintenance Cost-of-Living Adjustments including the forms needed to file
for an adjustment. Current CPI tables available through the Bureau of Labor Statistics can be accessed on our CPI Page.
Note: New child support laws went into
effect in Minnesota on January 1, 2007. On the Department of Human
Services website you can view a Fact
Sheet on the new laws or use an online
calculator to estimate child support under the new rules.
If your spousal maintenance order includes child support, please access assistance via the Minnesota Department of Human Services' Child Support Page. 24-hour recorded information can be found at (651) 431-4340 Twin Cities metro area or (800) 657-3954 Outside the metro area.
